There’s nothing like a pair of fresh white sneakers. Keeping them white is another story (especially if you’re a teenage boy!)

This simple, all natural, three ingredient shoe whitener seems way too good to be true however I gave it a try and it works really well – even my sixteen year old had success with this combo.

All you need is Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda, Green Goddess Hemp & Eucalyptus Liquid Castile Dish Wash and Green Goddess Premium Double Strength White Vinegar, a large medium bristled brush and a jar.

Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of dish wash and 1/4 cup of white vinegar in a jar with relatively high sides as it bubbles up, mix together to form a paste, then rub this mixture all over your shoes, including the laces and sides of the sole.

Leave on for a couple of minutes and brush off with a brush dipped in water. Keep dipping and brushing until all of the mixture has been removed. Then rinse well.

If you find any spots that are still stained use a little hemp & eucalyptus dish wash directly onto the stain and rub firmly, then rinse off.

Stuff your shoes with newspaper to keep the shape and leave to dry.
